High Paw โ Privacy Policy
Effective date: 2026-06-09
Florea Adrian Baltag ("we," "us," "High Paw") operates the High Paw mobile app (the "App"). This policy explains what we collect, why, who can see it, and your choices. By using the App you agree to this policy and to our Terms of Use / EULA.
Summary โ the parts people care about
- Your dog's photos are public. Photos you upload are served from public web addresses and can be viewed by anyone who has the link, including people you have blocked and people who are not logged in. Do not upload anything you need to keep private.
- Your location is shared only approximately with other users. Other users โ strangers and friends alike โ see your dog only at an approximately 300-meter snapped location, never your exact position. Your exact location is shared only with the confirmed participants of a playdate you join, and only for that meeting spot. This redaction happens on our servers before the data ever reaches another user's device.
- We do not sell your data, we do not use it for advertising, and we do not track you across other companies' apps or websites.
- You can delete your account and content from within the App.
What we collect, and why
- Email address โ required to create and sign in to your account (we use one-time email links; we do not store a password). Used only to operate your account and send you essential account and playdate notifications.
Date of birth (processed on your device only โ not stored by us)
- At sign-up we ask your date of birth solely to confirm you are 18 or older. This check happens on your device; an under-18 date of birth never reaches our servers, and we do not store your date of birth. Because it is never transmitted off your device, it is not part of the data we "collect."
Profile & content you create ("User Content")
- Your dog's profile (name, breed, age, weight, energy level, sex/neuter status, bio), your dog's photos (one primary + up to four gallery images; no video), your community posts, and the playdates you host or join. Used to provide the social features of the App.
- Photos and your dog's profile are publicly viewable as described in the summary above.
Location
- Precise location โ when you grant permission, we use your device location to show your dog on the map near other users and to let you set and find playdate meeting spots. Although we receive a precise location, we deliberately reduce it to an approximate (~300m) area before sharing it with any other user, and reveal an exact spot only to confirmed playdate participants. Location is used only for these features; it is never sold or used for advertising.
Identifiers
- A user account identifier and, if you enable notifications, a device push token so we can deliver playdate and account notifications to your device. The push token is tied to your account and is removed for a device when you log out.
Diagnostics
- Crash and performance data via our error-monitoring provider (Sentry), used only to find and fix bugs and keep the App stable. This may include technical device and error details. It is not used for advertising or tracking.
We do not collect: contacts, browsing history, financial or payment information, health data, or biometric data, and we do not use third-party advertising or analytics SDKs.
- With other users: your dog's profile and photos (public), your posts, your approximate map location, and โ only for playdates you join โ your exact meeting spot with confirmed participants.
- With service providers: our backend/hosting and storage provider (Supabase) and our error-monitoring provider (Sentry), acting on our behalf under their own privacy commitments, and Apple for app delivery and push notifications. These providers process data only to provide their service to us.
- For legal/safety reasons: when required by law or to protect the safety of users or the public.
- We never sell your personal data and never share it with data brokers or for cross-app tracking.
Safety, blocking, and reporting
You can block any user (symmetric and enforced across every surface) and report objectionable content or abusive users from within the App. Reports go to a human-reviewed queue and we act on reports of objectionable content within 24 hours. See our Terms of Use.
Data retention and deletion
- We keep your information for as long as your account is active.
- You can delete your account in the App; this removes your dog profile, photos, posts, and playdates. Account-level safety records of reports you filed may be retained as required to operate the safety system and comply with law. Residual copies may persist briefly in backups.
Your choices and rights
- Turn location and notification permissions on or off in your device settings.
- Access, correct, or delete your information by editing your profile or deleting your account in the App, or by contacting us.
- Depending on where you live (e.g. EEA/UK under GDPR, California under CCPA/CPRA), you may have additional rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict processing of your personal data, and to not be discriminated against for exercising them. To make a request, contact contact@highpaw.org.
Children
The App is for users 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor is using the App, contact contact@highpaw.org.
Changes
We may update this policy; material changes will be communicated in the App or by email, and the effective date above will be updated.
